Nigerian-American Artist Arizé Releases Hit Single “BLOOD DIAMOND”

[Atlanta, GA – March 3, 2023] Today, Nigerian-American artist Arizé releases “BLOOD DIAMOND” – his first single with MTM Standard, Georgia State University’s new in-house record label. Paying homage to his roots, the genre-bending masterpiece seamlessly merges the percussive elements of Afrobeat with the distinctive vibe of alternative rap, creating a sound he dubs, “Afro-fusion with a southern twist”. “BLOOD DIAMOND” is available on all digital platforms.

Reminiscing on his musical journey and sonic inspiration, Arizé shares, “Being a Nigerian immigrant and coming from a family that has certain expectations of you, I never thought music was in my destiny. But, I’ve always been a creative and my mom being a poet encouraged me to sit down and write. I drew a lot of similarities from what my mom showed me to what I saw in rap. I fell into a lot of alternative rap and the Neo-soul rap scene.”

Describing how Atlanta has impacted his music, he poignantly gleams, “It’s impacted my music by making me more sure of myself. When I came to Atlanta I saw the Mecca of black art, you see such a diverse perspective on “black music”. Coming here, I was like wow! I could be a rockstar if I wanted to, I felt like a kid again, I’ve been soaking it all up. Here I could be whatever I want to be!”
